Did they have that many personas in the previous games that look basically human looking? From what I saw on the Endurance Run they were mostly more abstract/monsterous.

Just started my new game plus tonight. Already seeing nuances that I didn't notice the first time due to not knowing spoilers. Also playing with Japanese audio this time.

I'm hesitant to use the Japanese audio for fear of another Teddie/Rise situation. Plus some characters like Ryuji were voiced so well in the English dub that I can't imagine them any other way.

One tiny story beat that I only noticed in NG+ (super early on, like first ten minutes)

Sae opens the interrogation saying something like "I didn't expect it to be you" which is nice since you meet her several times at the coffee shop.

Teddie/Rise situation? I've only ever played P4 in English, so I'm not sure what that's referring to. But I agree that the English voices are mostly good in P5. I did almost switch back, since there's a lot of background dialogue unsubbed... I might switch on and off or something. I do want to hear everyone's Japanese voice eventually.

And yeah, I caught the thing you mentioned in the spoiler box too.

Teddie and Rise's original Japanese voices were real horror shows if I remember correctly, or at least they were in the anime, I dunno if they were the same actors as the game or if their game performances were just as bad. Plus there was the -kuma thing with JP Teddie. Woof.

Oh yeah, spoiler-free protip: the Temperance and (to a lesser extent) Fortune confidants are huge timesavers. You'll see why when you see their bonuses in action. The cat could peer pressure you into sleeping early everyday and it might not matter much thanks to those two.

I actually died in my new game plus... being ambushed plus having all 4 party members get brainwashed will do that, I guess.

It took me until NG+ to see a hostage scenario. Thought I'd never get the achievement, which apparently is pretty common, somehow. Something like 50% of players got it in one run.

Yeah, I got it in the castle on my first run. I knew that the red area (outside, before entering the tower) looked suspicious and that it was a bad idea to go in it, but I just had to be sure.

I think there's a room in Kamoshida's palace that's supposed to be the tutorial for it. It's just a small room with a shadow facing the entrance so it's a guaranteed ambush.

So, I've hit a bit of a snag in my Ladysona build. One, I'm using too many of the same arcana. That bothers me. Two, if I try to have MC cover everything, that doesn't leave any slots for catching/fusing new stuff. So, if I pretty much run with just a party of Makoto, Ann, and Haru, I can dump nukelur, fire, and psy from my build. If I make one pokesona my healer/buffer, that should leave me with 5 free slots. That's enough to catch plenty pokesonas and fuse most of the advanced ones. Kinda a shame to dump fire, though. My Hua Po was coming along so well...
