Def free pulling on green then, S!Veronica is the one that jumps out at me and I don't have already. Nothing here draws my orbs away from halloween though.

Spent nearly 200 orbs and I got 2 Ephraims and 1 Kjelle. I knew this fucking shit would happen.

Oof, getting out ahead of your Halloween luck perhaps? If you can burn it all here maybe Halloween will be nice?

I don't know. Spent 277 now overall and ended up with 3 Ephraims and 2 Kjelles. Sitting at 301 orbs left. I won't go below 300 because of Halloween, but tomorrow we'll have the monthly reset and the voting gauntlet orbs, so I'll keep trying one more time. Worst case, I have to wait a whole year (total) until February and at least he doesn't share a color with anyone on that banner.

On the bright side, my +3 Ephraim is nice... my old copy was apparently +atk so I just merged him. A lot of people talk about giving him galeforce so now that mine is less fragile, I just did that (lord knows I pulled plenty of Cordelias today).

Which reminds me; the sad part about all these blue pity breakers is that I was also pulling green. They couldn't even throw me one of the green units, since I didn't have any... Got plenty of Libra manuals, though. And Clair, too. Fuck. So many Clairs.

E: Officially dropped 300 orbs. Got a 3rd Kjelle. Fuck this banner.

Omg, Feh makes a pumpkin spice reference in the first 2 seconds.

Farming sim in AR now. Cute, I guess. You can have provisions for the dining hall (3H style.. but with feathers!) or grow Dragon flowers, which is cool.

Halloween characters revealed early! Yay L'Arachel! She's cute! I played Sacred Stones but I still have no idea who Dozla is...
Ilyana! So many people wanted her normal form. Rolf got Wolt'd...

The Hector/Lilina Duo Hero is adorable. And aww yeah tickets. But I'm confused, which of the 5 is the free unit? Rolf?

Aww shit free quiz rewards!

That forma shit is... interesting.

Yep, Rolf is the freebie. Makes sense as he's probably the least interesting. Especially with this banner bringing us our first duo unit, yikes.

I really, really want that new L'Arachel because her seasonal design owns but I'm also tempted to drop a lot of orbs on Hectorlina just for the mechanics.

All-in on the farm and dining hall, it'll be nice to have meatier minigame content in the resort. Plus I'm hoping it makes a fishing minigame more likely. If so maybe we'll get that in the spring or summer update.

Forma stuff seems neat if the rewards are worthwhile, maybe too involved otherwise.

The farming and cooking looks cute, I def wanna mess with it. I wonder who I'll make my master chef!

L'Arachel and Dozla look fun, I like how they're themed around Frankenstein/Monster. Also Hector/Lilina looks supes cute. Glad I'm saving orbs!

The Forma thing I figure is going to be pretty easy, not too much like the tactics drills. Since all the skill ups are random it'll be hard to make/follow any kind of guide.

I suppose that makes L'Arachel the Junkrat and Dozla the Roadhog. :pac

Tempted to pull for Kliff and/or Lethe in the current random skill banner. Does anyone have them and use them a lot?

I love L'Arachel's design but now that her skills are released... not a fan of her tome, and Ilyana has the same problem. I suppose I can pull for them and switch the weapons out. Or... just go for Hector only.

I like Lethe's design a ton but I dunno if I've used her much after getting her to 40, unless it was on a beast gimmick squad or something.

Yeah, I was thinking that, since I love my bird team and Tibarn is my only red beast. Lethe would fit in with Yarne/Panne/Nailah/Ranulf/Caineghis well enough.

But, scratch that, because I was dumb and dropped more orbs on the legendary banner before it ended. 130 more landed me with another Kjelle :/ So my original L!Ephraim went from unmerged to +3, and I got 4 Kjelles (so she's +3, because I found that she actually wasn't terrible when I leveled her, and there's bold fighter fodder elsewhere) and I got a -atk Thrasir. All I wanted was (1) V!Soren. Kill me.

With 160~ orbs left, I'm attempting some unwon chain challenges and squad assaults, because I've been pretty much saving them for times like this. The Halloween banner has tickets and there's a tempest trial, so I'll hopefully get something and call it a day.

Yeah seeing the skills hasn't really filled me with inspiration for these Halloween units. Perhaps when their stats are revealed they'll have some niche to fill, but currently I'd pull them just for their appearance and probably not use them. Hector aside.

I'm glad I didn't pull for Lethe on the other banner because she pity broke me when I went for Hector. Sort of predicted something like that would happen. I got Hector 2 pulls later, though, so I'm pretty happy. Thanks to the free pull and tickets, I got them both for only 21 orbs.

I apparently never beat the top 2 levels of the Lilina and Cecelia BHB either, so I got the 7 orbs from that in addition to the quest rewards. Yay power creep!

Dropped 200 orbs on the banner (red/green).

Got two L'Arachel (+RES/-SPD, Neutral), and one Mareeta (+RES/-SPD).

200 orbs left, might as well keep fishing for Hector/Lilina pulling red only.

--edit--
40 more orbs and I got Heclina (+ATK/-SPD). I think I'm done.

Pretty decent pull! I heard Mareeta is good but I wasn't about to pull for a red sword unit that I wasn't familiar with when I have so many already.

I'm debating whether to pull for Ilyana because Tellius character, and because I don't have an armored mage at all. I guess shes better than V!Lyn, which is the only other blue armored mage in the game so far. Still don't like how the weapon hurts her.

Also debating: when the older banners come back, should I abandon my quest for H!Myrrh since I have Idunn? Seems redundant now. Tempted to pull Niles because I like his design but I have legendary Lucina as a blue bow already. Also, thinking about witchy Mia since I like her, but I have HS!Sakura as a staff flyer now. At least Mia isn't overly sexualized, so I may go that route... (Those of you who have those units, do you still use them?)

I really like Witchy!Mia, she's the only one of those that I have. She's in most of my rival domain teams because her wings of mercy lets her teleport all around the place and her weapon is unique in its reset cooldowns and inflict guard on enemies after combat. She's definitely not an offensive healer but I enjoy her as a support.

As for prev halloween units, I could prob use Myrrh but I don't know that I need any of them and may just start saving again. Henry is prob my fav of the Halloween units I have.

Mareeta I hear is like a powered up Fallen!Celica, but relies a lot on speed and mine is -SPD. I'll still train her but I got her worst bane haha.

Alright, I think I'll go for witchy Mia when that banner comes back, and Henry when the OG Halloween banner comes back. I want Jakob too, but he shares a color with Sakura, so I don't want to risk it.

I'm really digging Hall of Forms so far. The music is awesome, and it's forcing me to use units I wouldn't use/don't have. Mae is fucking hilarious... which I knew from Echoes but I always ignored her here due to her being mediocre in Heroes, but she did just get that refine...

New calendar is out and it seems to break a pattern. I'm used to "seasonal/normal/seasonal/normal" by now but we've got a new normal banner on October 20th and then another on November 6th. Those are stupid close together. There's speculation that Marianne is coming due to a sprite leak, so one of those is probably a 3H banner, unsurprisingly. The other should be the far-fetched heroes banner. Still didn't expect anything so close together.

So with the kitchen in the Aether Resort it got me thinking about Fire Emblem characters as Suikoden Cook-Off judges. I started my speculation on Askr & Nifl, since I feel like I know them best:

Sharena
Fav Food: Anything holiday themed or shaped like cute faces.
As Chef: Would agonise about trying to find a dish to please everyone, low success rate.
Rating Guide: Sharena gives everyone a 5 for every food. They all did their best and she wants to encourage them!

Alfonse
Fav Food: Full Course. Kinda dull, expected but a solid meal.
As Chef: Cooks something he knows.
Rating Guide: Alfonse does his best to be completely impartial, rating dishes accurately on their merits.

Anna
Fav Food: Cheesecake. Sweet, fancy, profit!
As Chef: Gets distracted and tries to set up a production line.
Rating Guide: All dishes are judged on profitability. In Anna's mind sweet = money so desserts get the highest ratings.

Serra (Not part of Askr but the first healer I got so I associate her with them)
Fav Food: Ladies Lunch. Basically high tea.
As Chef: Serra does not cook for others.
Rating Guide: Serra has very specific likes, everything else gets a 1. She won't tell you what she likes, she expects you to know.

Fjorm
Fav Food: Icecream. Cool, sweet.
As Chef: Makes solid and varied dishes, garnishes to suit each judge.
Rating Guide: Similar to Alfonse she tries her best to rate dishes on their merits, however she never gives a 1 because she would feel bad about it.

Gunnthra
Fav Food: Sashimi. Lots of pieces, rigid rules.
As Chef: Over-complicates things, technically sound but not big on flavour.
Rating Guide: Likes complicated food, uninterested by simple crowd-pleasers.

Ylgr
Fav Food: Anything spicy. Rebellious and dangerous.
As Chef: Makes an absolute mess, pretty much always serves burned food. Also it's full of chilli.
Rating Guide: Harsh AF. Boring boring boring, you've gotta spice up a meal to get a decent rating from her.

It was a fun thought experiment, since y'all have been playing Three Houses what do you think they'd like and how would they judge?

Oh, cute, and spot on!

My Hubert was the first to cook and both of his meals were 5 stars. I guess as a servant he got good at it...

But as for 3 Houses in general... I know the Black Eagles best. (And it's kind of easy, due to the dining hall/cooking option in game).

Edelgard
Fav Food: Anything sweet, especially cake.
As Chef: She's inexperienced, since she's used to servants cooking for her, so everything turns out a little... off.
Rating Guide: Judges on merit, but gives higher ratings to sweets.

Hubert
Fav Food: Likes anything with a "unique" flavor or Dagdan dishes.
As Chef: "Overcooked meat is too bland; I prefer it to be bleeding!" and by his own admission, he hasn't mastered spices yet, so his dishes include weird spice combinations that don't quite always work, or they're just over/under seasoned.
Rating Guide: Tries to judge impartially, without emotion. Prefers bitter to sweet. Definitely likes cheese based on his dining hall preferences.

Dorothea
Fav Food: Simple foods, street foods, sweets.
As Chef: Is a terrible cook, as mentioned by herself and several others. Doesn't try very hard to improve, either.
Rating Guide: Gives anything with fish a 1 star, but likes just about everything else. She grew up on the streets, so she's not picky. Most non-fishes dishes get 4s or 5s.

Caspar
Fav Food: Anything. Just shovels it all down! Prefers meat, however.
As Chef: Burns the shit out of everything because he rushes everything done on high heat, in his excitement.
Rating Guide: Almost everything (except fish) gets a 5 as long as it's edible. He doesn't give himself enough time to taste it. Won't touch most fish dishes though.

Linhardt
Fav Food: Fruity things and fish.
As Chef: Prefers eating food to actually cooking it. Just goes by the recipe book to the letter.
Rating Guide: Dislikes wild game or heavy meats. Is brutally harsh and honest with his ratings.

Bernadetta
Fav Food: Anything sweet (this is really common for most of the girls, I noticed...) and veggie dishes.
As Chef: Absolutely loves to cook and goes all out with every dish.
Rating Guide: She's afraid of upsetting people so she lies and gives everything 5 stars. Feigns that she's not hungry if she doesn't want something, rather than rating it poorly.

Petra
Fav Food: Dishes from Brigid, which she doesn't have a lot of access to in Fodlan.
As Chef: Is really good at skinning and preparing her own catches, so lots of rabbit, deer, wild game, and fish. Likes exotic spices.
Rating Guide: Rates exotic and foreign dishes higher. Thinks the food of Fodlan is strange.

Ferdinand
Fav Food: Anything fancy and "noble." Likes expensive ingredients.
As Chef: It is his noble duty to try his best and make the best possible dishes for everyone, even if he's not great at it.
Rating Guide: Dislikes cheese and bitter things (seriously, they made him the exact opposite of Hubert in every way. In his roster, it even says that Ferdinand actually likes heights. Sigh). Rates things at least a 3 or higher though, as to not hurt anyone's feelings too much. Describes his disliked foods as an "acquired taste."

The cool thing about this new schedule is that we can see *both* new upcoming hero banners before deciding if I want to throw more orbs at the Halloween ones. The new banner ends on November 10th, while the second new hero banner starts on the 6th (and we'll have their skill and stat previews even before that).

Yeah it's nice when you get overlap like that. I put H!Hector into my halloween AR defense, seems to be working okay so far.
