Nope, and to also answer TP's question, I doubt they'd change existing characters. They didn't change any of the old dragons over when they added a colorless dragon type. (Also, this was easy to miss. They didn't call it out; there were just new colored bow icons shown in the skill filter picture. Sort of how they hinted colorless dragons the last time just by adding the icon, too. So I wouldn't expect to officially hear anything for a few weeks).

But I like the idea. I feel like most bow users right now are the same and there's very little difference between them, and once you've played for as long as I have, very little appeal in going for newer bow users. There are TONS of archers in this series, and now they can add more without them just being more of the same.

I also feel like this mightl help flying units a bit. Like maybe my blue flier can survive an attack from a red bow or something, when before would be previously doomed by bows.

Could also finally bring an end to Brave Lyn's long reign of terror over the archer division. Feels like there ain't much raisin to use any other archer if you've got that one, and tons of people do at this point.

Theoretically Setsuna should be good, coming with Bowbreaker and Daggerbreaker (weapon) alongside her flier damage bonus.

Are there any flier archers in the actual Fire Emblem games? That's mix we haven't seen.

Yeah. Not sure about in the older games, but Fates has the Kinshi Knight. They would be so overpowered in Heroes, though, so I can see why they've yet to come out.

I've heard good things about Setsuna, actually, but haven't put the time into her.

Also, I cannot beat that infernal Nowi/Tiki battle. Everyone is saying it's easy, so I'm getting really frustrated.

I wouldn't mind getting an armoured archer at some point, too. They'd trade mobility for way more survivability than other archers and could be fun on full armour teams with synergy skills.

Just Googled it and there are non-recruitable bow armored characters in Genealogy of the Holy War, which is the follow-up to Thracia. With the Thracia banner about to come out, I wonder if players will get to control them for the first time in Heroes sometime in the future. I like the idea.

Man, it took me several tries to beat Lunatic Navarre with 36/39/38/40 for levels, and I had to figure out just the right way to lure them, because nobody could tank one full round of hits. I don't even know how I'm going to beat Infernal Navarre. I could try the same strategy, but that extra dragon will likely botch the whole job.

One of the Christmas units (I think) was an armoured archer, so there is one in the game just impossible to get right now.

Jumped in the deep end by starting on Infernal against Legion. Axebreaker on a red mage like Witchy!Nowi lets me one shot the various legions, it seems like this whole thing is set up for mages because all the enemy mages seem to have sword or lancebreaker to vore your melee.

I am really unlucky. Got the 20 orbs from the new story chapters and quests. Nada. I hope I have better luck with the 20 free orbs that we get soon.

Managed to beat all 3 of both the Legion and Clarisse battles, which I'm pretty chuffed about. Removing the stamina cost really allows me to experiment more.

Also managed to pick up Reinhold and Nanna, as well as a pity-breaker Ike, on the Thracia banner. I was hoping for Leif, but that's okay.

I tried for Nanna but didn't get anything. In the meantime my desire for Bunny!Alfonse is rising so my free orbs may be going that way. If I accidentally get another Sharena I won't complain, but chances are I'm getting neither before the event ends.

I wasn't planning on gunning too hard for summons on this banner but then I saw the enemy Nanna in one of the new story maps bust out some filthy healing bullshit so I suppose I should at least try for her.

I was excited for Nanna as a healer for Rival Domains/war mode, but realised the part I liked most was the heal all other allies for 10, which you can get from Wrys pretty easy.

One of these days I'll try to make a DPS healer out of Serra.

But very few people actually put time or attention into Wrys. Part of it is design, yeah, but I think the other part is the salt about unwantingly pulling him 2000+ times over the course of the game's existence.

What sucks is that everyone seems to love Genny and apparently she can solo the Tiki/Nowi Bound Hero Battle, but I don't even have a lower star version of her to upgrade or work on :/

Really? I might have to put some time into my Genny and Wrys, then.

Well, that 20 orb log-in bonus was a waste too. When will my bad luck streak end?

Just ended! Earned 5 orbs from the conquest battles so far and pulled Sharena. Decided to pull green since I only had one chance and there were 3 colorless orbs, and I didn't want to have the "what if?" pity party if the orb I picked didn't pull Kagero.

Speaking of, I like the conquest battles a lot, but man, I suck at them.

It seems fun. I'm on Team Alfonse. Kinda just hedging my bets and taking LV. 30 fights. I like how the reward tiers for it have more than one thing in 'em. I wonder if Tempest will work that way now too.

All I'm getting from this banner so far is a handful of unrelated colourless units I didn't have before, like Sakura. Ehh.

I'm team Anna. Since it's random, I don't really care so much about who wins. I just want the tier rewards I work for.

Ugh, sorry. I kept getting Lachesis which was annoying. A Genny or Elise would have been nice... I still don't even have them at all. Not even at 3 stars.

Well, it has to be random, otherwise Alphonse gets wiped out immediately. There are additional rewards for how much territory your side holds at the end though.

Apparently people are getting shifted to losing teams when it gets unbalanced, which has annoyed folks who worked hard to push their team ahead only to find they were shifted to the weaker side.

I did a couple of battles but have been distracted lately so haven't dug deep.

Each "battle", comprised of 22 rounds, is a separate instance with its own rewards (and even changed starting locations) followed by a reset though, so that shouldn't matter much.

I thought dancers were hard to level early on, but working on a max level Ninian seems extra tough. My Ninian is -ATK which doesn't help, but in order to increase her survival as my dragon buff unit, there are a bunch of skills and a weapon refine that I want to do. Her dragon team is not helping her because she sticks to her role of enabling them to do the work.

Am I going to need to do a dancer buff team and try to get her to solo maps to build up SP? How else can I pump her up?
