Looks like I now have enough Tharjas for a full +10 merge. In like two months or however long it takes me to collect the necessary feathers. :pacdown

Almost every voting gauntlet battle I've been in this time has been on a team full of reds, often versus another team full of reds, which usually always ends in a restart. Pfft. I also seem to have a real knack for picking the losing team. First Lucina, now probably Lyn, as Veronica stomps everyone.

Haven't poked at the new Relay Defense much yet.

Yeah, I'm getting really unbalanced teams as well. Despite being on a team for a colorless unit vs. another colorless unit, that was the last quest for me to level up, since no one ever gave me a colorless unit until I changed my own.

I did the first 3 Relay Defense maps and fuck, the difficulty ramps up quick. The others that I've yet to play/unlock have the infernal color, and I'm already having trouble with Lunatic, so... ugh.

I did the first relay defense map and then stopped. I guess I could go back to it but it didn't particularly inspire me.

Perhaps symptomatic of which of my friends are with me on Team Veronica, but I am getting 3/3 green units frequently in the Voting Gauntlet. I am at least (so far) on the winning team for once.

Jeez, that new schedule of events. I feel like they're releasing new Heroes way too fast now. We just got that new banner that I haven't had the time to pull Lewyn on because I'm still trying for CYL, and I guess we're getting a "new heroes summoning event" on both the 14th and the 21st that last a long time. I'm a bit confused, since the new hero banners have titles, so maybe these summoning events aren't for brand new ones, but I don't know what else they'd be. And then, of course, the new special heroes in October, which is obviously the Halloween banner, and a legendary banner in the middle of the month, which means one new person.

Yeah it's a bit full on, I had been considering pulling for a good IV Odin on the upcoming 'new power' banner, but with all these new hero banners coming I guess I'll just hope to get him from random pulls on blue.

Theory is that Chapter 2 of the story will end this month, so one of the long new hero banners is rumoured to be their OCs like Laegjarn and Helbendi or the other ice royalty Ylgr and princey whats-it. Hopefully it means we're done with mustache twirling pyromaniac Surtur, though there is zero percent chance we're done with Loki, she seems to be setting up to appear in the next chapter.

Ooh, I would love a banner with the OCs, actually.

Veronica actually lost (not by much) but it legit surprised me based on the ongoing results.

Oh well, time for the next Tempest Trial tomorrow where I think I legit only have 1 bonus ally that I never use or care about...

I have Sigurd so I'm just running my cav team. The extra stats he gets make him kinda hilariously tanky, so it's a breeze so far.

I'm finally putting my +1 Eldigan to use. Also on a mostly cav squad. Might start swapping Brave Lyn for Veronica sometimes for healing support.

I have Sigurd too, I forgot. But yeah, despite my Deirdre being +1, I never use her and she doesn't have her full skill set yet, so she keeps dying. I padded out the team with the latest Hector and Veronica, so I'm fine overall, but Deirdre isn't gaining as much SP as I'd like.

Also disappointed with this arena season. Only units I have at 5* 40 are Valter and Anna. Valter is meh and my Anna doesn't have her weapon refined yet due to lack of dew, so she sucks too. Literally don't have anyone else at all except Jamke, who I just got, and only at 3* untouched. I figured he wasn't worth leveling, as another generic colorless bow user. I keep getting stomped in this tier with Anna and on my team and 3 people who are actually good, by users with full CYL teams. Met a new Celica with Galeforce in addition to the skill she comes with that lets her attack twice in a row, and Death Blow 4... fuck.

Speaking of, how is everyone's usual arena experience? I tend to have no problem with advanced arenas at tier 17, but at 18, I get spanked, and I've never progressed into 19 even with a good bonus team winning advanced arenas. I go back and forth between 17 and 18 every week.

I think I'm usually hovering between 16 and 17. I just do the 5-chain for the rewards and forget about Arena entirely 'til the reset unless there's additional quests to mop up. Never really run anything higher than Advanced whatever the second-tier difficulty is called

Advanced is the highest.

So you don't even do the 3 daily swords after you do the initial 5-chain? I usually do those and only do more if there's quests (like for TT flags). Works until tier 18 apparently and then I guess it requires a shit-load of arena swords and extra battles to ever move up, which is why I've never gotten higher.

I try to remember to do the 3 fights per day, but it's pretty low priority for me after the first five. I typically choose the Advanced fight and use whatever team has the week's bonus unit. This time around it's Valter, though I keep running into Brave Lyns which is kind of annoying so he's not often up front. Even with boosted stats for being a bonus unit, his RES is also trash so he's hard to bait with. Maybe I'll put that Iote's Shield seal on him. I think it's currently on Cordelia but she tries to avoid being hit so it doesn't do a lot.

Weirdest pity breaker ever: in my last ditch efforts to get Ephraim before the banner ends today, I took my 9 orbs (usually the minimum before I snipe in case there's 2 of the color I want) and of course, yet AGAIN, there were no greens to choose from. Chose the lone red orb for Celica. Got... Lene.

Hell yeah, Club Lene in effect.

I also have a Lene that I trained up to 40 but don't know what to do with right now. With her weapon she has 30/28 defenses which are pretty solid for a dancer (mine is +SPD/-ATK), but red swords are so common that it's often hard to justify her over another red sword.

You could potentially turn her into a DEF/RES Tactic unit, boosting the rest of her team while mostly sticking back out of harm's way. That'd be potentially a bit of investment though.

At least this TT has another dance seal. Fully leveled Earth Dance to 3 today. That pretty much stays on my Festival Micaiah but I move it when needed. Now with this new dance seal, there should be less swapping needed (yay). So that's earth and fire dance covered with seals. I noticed that Lene has Wind Dance as a natural skill (which evolves into a hybrid) so I'm guessing a regular wind dance seal is coming in the future.

I put that Fire Dance onto Inigo and moved Earth Dance onto Lene, which gives him a dual offense buff and pushes her up to a three stat boost dance.

Nice.

So new banner is Fates peeps. Ophelia, Nina, Silas, and Flora. In terms of the actual game, I only care about Nina (Silas is okay but I like his daughter more, and she isn't in Heroes yet) but even Nina is just another colorless bow. Not compelled to care. The only newish unit is Flora since she's the first red knife/dagger user.

There's lots of Yu-Gi-Oh jokes about Flora's weapon, which is a small essay worth of effects. While it initially sounded super powerful (+20 DEF), I'm not sure it's going to be all that great because it seems she's specifically a distant counter counter and potentially won't offer a lot outside of that.

Ophelia is the one that appeals most to me, because I like to run mage teams. The biggest detriments to her are that she shares a tome colour with her father (makes them hard to run together) and she shares Blue orbs with Silas on the banner making her potentially hard to pull.

Ah, so a good way to kill the green Hectors and male Fell Robin. Might be effective enough for specific garden maps or GHB/BHBs.

I just can't stand Ophelia's outfit, and since she is Odin's daughter, I've never gotten into her as a character. Even in actual Fates, he's weak and too over the top, and I didn't find her much better. I noticed that my tier list updated and he skyrocketed up it now that he's got the refined weapon option, but I'm still not going to bother promoting him when I have better blue mages already.

I appreciate Odin for his OTT attitude, kind of like Serra's narcissicism. The jester-style outfit works for him and his daughter too. I'll have to look at her stats to see how useful she'll be, but she does have some nice skills.

Since this is Nohr, I'm wondering if the next upcoming long banner beginning on the 21st (these new banners are coming way too quickly, like it's a plot to sell orbs) will be Hoshido. If so, my predictions, based on this Nohr batch being 2 first gen characters and 2 child characters are:

Midori (mostly wishful thinking because I love her), or Kiragi. They'd both likely use bows.
Mitama
Mozu
Hayato/Rinkah/Orochi (the unused first gen people so far that aren't beast characters or pre-promotes)

Holy shit, that Hoarfrost Knife is insane!

Edit: I just got two 5 stars in a row (both only one red per set) while trying to pull Celica before she goes away. Chrom and Sanaki. Uh, okay.

Original Chrom or Cavalry Chrom? Regardless, congrats. I got my Sanaki as a pity breaker at some point and never use her, but she's apparently good with her weapon refined.
