The Eternity Clock was so mediocre and glitchy. Hopes are not high for this.

Looks like everything but the PC is getting a Valkyria Chronicles 4 demo today.

e: update! Not only is there no PC demo today but also none planned at all, sadly.

so far I've heard VC4 described as "VC1 but with mortars and also tanks move on 1 CP now" so that sounds pretty bangin'

I'd also accept "VC1 but with air strikes" if they function on a turn delay kinda like torpedoes in Skies of Arcadia

I'm just glad it's not another "let's look at the Gallian front from yet another angle" game. Forever Atlantic Federation!

what if they ended this alternate anime timeline WW2 and jumped ahead to... alternate anime timeline Korea? Vietnam? hmm...

ehh, maybe just switch theatres. give me alternate anime timeline North Africa or the Pacific with gunboats instead of tanks.

Phantasy Star hasn't had a visual identity of its own since PSO and that's part of the problem. And I wasn't even the biggest PSO guy or anything but yo PSO had a look. The art for this new thing could be from anything, much like almost everything else PS has done since the Dreamcast.

ps "battle casual motherfucker" is going to be the next character i roll in a rpg

It's out. I doubt it's worth plopping down 10-15 currency units, but whatever.

I guess it's a match-3 with Doctor Who jpgs instead of anime porn jpgs which for a Steam game is actually pretty novel

I guess pushing the gameplay as far away as possible while getting some decent writers to bookend stuff is the way to go, considering how previous attempts went down.

I have to imagine the budget on these, and Eternity Clock, is minuscule, really.

Looks like Blizzard has multiple Diablo things in development.

No more news 'til Blizzcon I guess.

I bounced off Diablo 3 pretty hard.

Yeah I don't have time for games like Diablo anymore. Blizzard remain great at music, voices, and cinematics but beyond that I'm pretty meh on their whole catalogue.

These Smash Brothers announcements are getting pretty incredible. The Belmonts! 103 playable stages! It makes me think Nintendo's trying to make this edition some kind of definitive version, you know what I mean?

I didn't expect Richter or Alucard to show up, most of the Nintendo references to Castlevania are the old old Simon Belmont kind.

And at least seven Fire Emblem characters (Marth, Roy, Ike, Robin, Lucina, Corrin, Chrom) though at least a couple are just reskin options, I think.

Smash isn't for me but Ultimate looks like a pretty great celebratory thing that should at least still be fun to keep an eye on (put Lyn in Smash you cowards)

There's a new Torchlight coming next year, despite Perfect World shuttering Runic a while back. Weirdly, this new one will still involve a lot of the Runic staff under a different name. Okay, so, why close the original studio, then. Brrrt.

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/0 ... announced/

I'd rather have a new Rebel Galaxy but I liked that first Torchlight well enough.

Here's a great lookin' blue translucent PS4 Pro if anyone's in the market.

Since it's Valkyria Chronicles season, Sega is apparently putting VC1 on the Switch in Japan. Who knows if it'll make it over here. But more venues for one of Sega's best modern games is only a good thing.

Diablo 3 is a getting a Switch port sometime this year, via a leak from *squints* Forbes? Okay. So I guess that's one of the rumoured new Diablo things, or the thing - who knows. It'll have Zelda stuff in it plus 4-player local multiplayer.

https://www.polygon.com/2018/8/16/17690 ... tion-zelda

$60 is a lot. Even assuming it rolls in all the expansions, it could be said that $60 is too much.

I'm more interested in whether or not this opens the door for other Blizzard things on the Switch, preferably for not-$60, but I guess Diablo might be the easiest of their lineup to get running and handling well, aside from Hearthstone or HOTS, maybe.

I'm only really an Overwatch guy obviously and who knows how the hell that would work.

A tactical RPG called Fell Seal came out the other day and it looks pretty alright. It's got a very nice clean look to it at least. Not sure how it plays, but I've heard it referred to as a particularly faithful FFT-like, rather than following on more from post-FFT tactics games like Disgaea or Banner Saga or whatever.

Looks interesting. I'll put it on my watch list, although if I'ma play a TRPG, I'd probably go with Disgaea 5 first.

Speaking of true FFTactics-likes, Arcadian Atlas is due out late 2018/early 2019.

As far as I can tell Arcadian Atlas is only coming to PC/Mac, if that's what you were referring to
