I don't know the context of the flash drive thing, but this reminds me of when my 7th grade class went on a field trip to Medieval Times, and we weren't allowed to have *any* silverware because *time period!*, but we were served Coke in pewter mugs.

Sunless Skies coming in hot.

Sunless Sea is an amazing game that I still haven't spent enough time with and it looks like Skies will be more of that, which is kinda all I need. (+ perhaps a slightly quicker-paced earlygame, but I'm not picky.)

Life is Strange 2 Episode 2 is up so I'm going into spoiler avoidance mode. Kinda got an idea of one thing that'll happen though
but the Next Time teaser at the end of Episode 1 and the trailers since then have kinda already telegraphed this.
Geek Remix already has their run up either in part or in full (but I figure they got it early.)

Okay I finished LIS2e2, and man did I fuck up a bunch. Very interested to see how you go compared to me. There is one decision that I feel like I maybe want to go back and change, but fuck man I prob should just live with it - I'm no Max.

All of a sudden I have family stuff to do this weekend, so my run might get bumped as late as Monday (and maybe I'll double-up on Phriday next Friday. Not sure where Layfield went all of a sudden.)

Reviews for Wargroove are trickling out and it sounds like it's gonna be very good, especially if yer coming at it looking for a successor to Advance Wars. (Maybe a little GBA-era Fire Emblem in there too.)

I like how the dogs run away when defeated instead of dying like the humans.

Re: [Game News] + General Gamesy Chatter
The Metro Exodus situation is a wild one 'cause it's lookin' like it was a decision Koch made without consulting THQ Nordic or Valve. So it might end up be a little atypical, or maybe it'll be part of the new normal in the Steam vs. Epic fight - who knows.
It's funny to me that PC folks now have their own version of the console wars going on, but probably even stupider, 'cause in this case the only real barrier to entry is like, double-clicking a different desktop icon (in fairness, a lot of people are kinda married to their existing friend lists, or have concerns about adding payment info to more places.)
In related news: Dauntless, the free-to-play Monster Hunter -like people have been bugging me to try for a year-plus, is also heading to Epic, abandoning its own proprietary launcher and not touching Steam at all.

Free-to-play is a good space for Epic to be exploring considering a massive chunk of their launcher's install base exists solely because of Fortnite. Having a few solid F2P games in the Epic Store for people to try when Fortnite is down or whatever feels like a pretty natural lateral move/onboarding point for a ton of players.

Did that dog just kick down a fucking wall?!
Edit: I like that when the dogs run away, on attack, they run off of the enemy screen and through your screen. Nice bit of detail.
Added to my Steam Wishlist. If it's online multi, I'm down to play against y'all.

Also looks like Sunless Skies is quite good, and I loved Sunless Sea, so I might have to pull the trigger earlier than I thought.

Re: [Game News] + General Gamesy Chatter
oh shit, right, I own Starbound, so that means I got a 15%-off Wargroove coupon. Hmm.
In other news, Animal Crossing is now dated for April 29th, so I guess I got about that long to get a Switch. (Also there are increasing rumblings about new Switch models, one cheaper and probably another "XL" thing, so I hope those drop before Animal Crossing/Fire Emblem/SMT/etc.)

Re: [Game News] + General Gamesy Chatter
You know, I've never actually played an Animal Crossing. I know the basics of the franchise, but I'm usually someone who needs some kind of a storyline to power my enjoyment. Do AC games tend to have that kind of structure?

Very no. Animal Crossing is like a game that begins in the post-game.DHerder222 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 12:29 pmYou know, I've never actually played an Animal Crossing. Animal Crossing is Harvest Moon without the plot, setting, farming, mining or point-based interpersonal dynamics.

Final Fantasy 14 is adding Nier content with its next expansion, apparently produced by Yoko Taro himself.

Re: [Game News] + General Gamesy Chatter
Uhh... It's free until a certain level. At least, on PS4. Not sure if said level will get you to this content, though. I still haven't popped the cork, so to speak.
