And I love everything about her. Time to buy the game again and play it for probably 90+ hours (due to all the new content) again... I might be ready by 2020.

Obviously I'm into rose-aesthetic dancy-fencer, but I also feel it's slightly overlapping with Haru who was already an underfocused character outside of Her Dungeon.

Persona's always been pretty good on gender parity, but it's pretty sweet to see this installment so female-heavy.

Unless I'm totally blanking and forgetting someone, she technically evens that out, rather than making it female heavy. It's just that Goro isn't counted by most people because he isn't playable for very long (among other raisins) and Morgana is a cat, so it makes it seem that way.

There was a Japanese live stream of P5R info just now and some people are already translating the info. It's pretty easy to find. Meanwhile, I love one of Haru's new outfits.

https://twitter.com/ThePhanSite/status/ ... 3635526656

Some other info is that there will apparently be a gallery mode (I guess just portraits and a way to re-watch cut scenes?)

Kasumi's arcana is apparently "the faith" in French. Really not sure how that fits in with the usual Persona arcanas yet.

You can use grappling abilities more in the dungeons and reach areas/items/enemies from father distances.

Guns are more customizable with abilities (I hope there are easier ways to earn money, then).

And in pure Atlus fashion, there will be more info in July.

Just beat PQ2. Took about 70 hours, so it's an investment. I liked the original PQ better, but this is still good if you liked that one.

I just felt like the last area of this one was kind of bland. Nowhere near as dark or epic as the grueling last area in the original.

Watching the credits now though, and it's cute because there's a bunch rotating artwork that's really good. Soundtrack was pretty great, too.

It's apparently Ryuji's birthday in the real world and people are posting about it and posting pics of their plushies of him next to ramen, since he loves it so much. I inadvertently had ramen for dinner tonight. My anniversary with Mike was yesterday but that just wasn't a good day to go out, so we went tonight to a new Japanese fusion place in town. The communal seating made it kind of loud but the rest of the environment was nice. I got spicy shrimp ramen and it was amazing. Mike got spicy noodles (a bit different since they were udon noodles and it wasn't brothy) and that shit was great too.

Not really related to Persona aside from the Ryuji thing but yeah, I will never turn down ramen from an actual Japanese restaurant (especially when egg is involved- I always think of that option in P3 where Makoto can steal Kenji's egg, heh). Those 30 cent ramen packets can fuck off, though.

New P5R info.

I know the original game was already long as hell, but I'm totally looking forward to this.

There's a P5R livestream going on right now with a new trailer, but I can't find a version of the trailer by itself on Youtube yet (I lost track of the tweet, damn it). Lot's of new stuff and you'll get more out of it if you know Japanese, of course. Between this and all the Fire Emblem stuff, my feed is lit.

Regarding a small detail in the trailer that most won't notice, that is being pointed out on Twitter:
Spoiler :
There's a zoomed in picture of the party's hp headshots and Goro is in the party with his Loki mask on. So, as many predicted/wanted, I guess he's playable beyond the casino in this version. Hell yeah. I liked his skill set, used him a ton in PQ2, and well, I guess I'm stanning Robbie Daymond characters now XD
E: Found it (doesn't show video here but should if you click on it).

https://twitter.com/p_kouhou/status/1157247207260581888

E: The stuff in the spoiler tag got its own trailer. So yeah, the word is out, Goro is playable for longer and basically gets what is probably a redemption arc. I'm just curious if he's an actual wild card, or if he can only switch between Robin Hood and Loki. Maybe that new kid is his Velvet Room attendant? But he's hanging out in Mementos, which is weird.

don't exactly need a second PS4 (and I doubt these'll leave Japan anyway) but I'd love to get one of those controllers if the import isn't too expensive (it will be)

Yeah, they look pretty cool, but like... the target audiences will already have a PS4...

P3/4 protags will be in Royal as optional DLC fights. But via the Velvet Room, so I doubt there'll be any major story hooks for them. also, maybe don't get yer hopes up for P3P's one true protagonist, she fell in a memory hole or something I guess

https://www.polygon.com/ps4/2019/10/3/2 ... nist-fight

https://youtu.be/-qjftB7i2ZI

there's also gonna be Persona Q character skins and probably a bunch of other things I haven't picked through yet 'cause this video is ten minutes long, untranslated, and I still dunno if I have the time and energy to play Persona 5 again in any form, so I haven't been paying as close attention as usual (yo Atlus I got my Switch where's SMTV at)

I will be playing all 3 games...

But, while the news of fighting the P3 male protag is pretty cool, I can't help but wonder if that means the P3 remake rumors are just that. People said when P3D came out that, "there's no way they're making these new sprites/environments for these characters in the P5 engine just for a silly dancing game!?" But maybe... it was just for this.

Nice that it's coming out on my birthday week yet again, so I put in my time off request. Sucks that it's so soon after the FF7 remake though. I'm not going to have much of a social life in March...

Persona 5 Royal will be reworking those two shitty Ryuji scenes, you know the ones

https://kotaku.com/persona-5-royal-is-e ... 1841751118

Honestly I'd just remove those two characters, both their moments with Ryuji are right at the end of much longer and totally unrelated scenes, feels like they could just disappear without losing anything of consequence. And maybe that's what they'll do, though the quotes from Atlus sound more like a rewrite than an outright cut, so who knows.

There's also a Persona 5 tag going around Twitter 'cause someone at Atlus told folks to make some noise if they want a Switch port. Which feels like an odd thing for someone over there to say unless there's already wheels in motion, but I ain't in communications, what do I know.

So in other words, it was left alone in the Japanese version that's already released, but they're changing it for us? It's a start, I suppose. I agree that the removal would make more sense.

That is also weird. I've already got the PS4 version pre-ordered, and if they announced a Switch port today, I wouldn't change it. I played it on the PS3 originally so I'm used to the experience of not playing that one handheld. That said, more accessibility is always great, so I'd support the port existing. It'd be nice if they ported the Vita games to Switch so that those who didn't buy that niche system could play them, but with those being locked to Sony so far, who knows.

I'd say Catherine going to PC and Scramble being multiplatform should probably mark the end of implied Sony exclusivity and now all bets are off, but it's impossible to say for sure. Atlus may also still be small enough even under Sega that some things will remain exclusive to their original platforms just due to a lack of resources, even if there's no particular business entanglements keeping it that way.

Funny enough it feels to me these days that all we can really say for certain is Tokyo Mirage Sessions will never leave Nintendo hardware 'cause of all the Fire Emblem characters. :pac
