So it's like Pocket fighter for SNK ladies since there are simple controls and powerup items? :pac

SCVI character reveals, including one new dude and one possible alt version of an old dude.

I really don't like Xianghua's new voice but her new look is a lot better than the 16th century crop top/hot pants she was stuck with last time. :pac Everyone seems to have their familiar poses and flourishes too, which is fun to see with modern tech.

I don't know if I've ever seen a fighting game as uniquely fucked up as Twin Goddesses.

I keep meaning to play some flavour of The Witcher, if something about those games didn't make me fall asleep on contact.

I love the world and lore of The Witcher, but the gameplay is balls.

Oh right, there was also news of a Street Fighter TV series just recently. Ain't much to go on yet except that it's happening, or it's been optioned to maybe kinda almost sorta happen someday, but I figure it'll be some streaming thing.

Casting ideas?

Hard to say, but one thing I've noticed is that the characters seem to be getting older-looking even as the series is basically arrested in time. It'd be really cool if *all* the characters were basically at their prime (mid-late 20s) or starting to approach the end-time (late 30s-maybe even early 40s). But it'd be really weird/kinda creepy to have, say, a 35-year old Ryu and a 21-year old Chun Li.

I gotta figure any new Street Fighter TV or movie thing will always cast the protagonists on the younger side and maybe some of the antagonists somewhat older. Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun Li, would probably all be vaguely mid-20s. Maybe Vega would be around there, but Sagat would look sorta older, and Bison probably the oldest.

That could work. Ha, Screenrant has a dream cast and has Mads Mikkelsen as Bison. I don't know if that totally works but I would still watch the hell out of that.

Heh, Discovery has made me want more Jason Isaacs literally anywhere. He'd make a great Bison I think.

The WWE's Cesaro should be Sagat. If they could find something for Kenny Omega and Xavier Woods to do that would also be amazing.

Ooh, ooh! Might be too easy, but Hafthor Bjornsson as Zangief?

You know what'd be kind of interesting? If you look at all the games from franchises that take place in the "real" world, it'd be pretty easy to find all the characters that hail from every country. But it could also be interesting to see which countries produce the most stages. I'm sure Japan and USA are the top two, but after that I'm not sure.

Okay. So I just did this, across Capcom, Namco and SNK (and now Sega and Koei-Tecmo and a bunch more). A sample size of 740 characters. Here's the rough results.

United Kingdom 39 (5%)
Germany 25 (3%)
Korea 24 (3%)
France 22 (3%)
Russia 19 (3%)
Brazil 16 (2%)
Mexico 14 (2%)
Spain 13 (2%)
Italy 12 (2%)
Canada 10 (1%)
Hong Kong 8 (1%)
Australia 6 (>1%)

Street Fighter
Darkstalkers
Rival Schools
Saturday Night Slam Masters
Star Gladiator
Tekken
Soulcalibur
King of Fighters
Art of Fighting
Fatal Fury
World Heroes
Samurai Shodown
Matrimelee
Savage Reign

And probably a few others.

EDIT: I've added Dead or Alive and Virtua Fighter.

I added...

Bloody Roar
Ehrgeiz
Fighters Destiny
Flying Dragon
Battle Arena Toshinden and
Power Instinct

to the list.

It doesn't change much, except Germany nudges past Korea and Brazil and Mexico trade spots. Funnily enough, Mortal Kombat is pretty coy about confirming nationalities. Otherwise, I would have added that.

There's not really any other interesting series' to add. Most of the others I can think of would have 100% Japanese casts, like Arcana Heart.

ZERO: North pole

740 stages, wow. Where are you finding this data, John? Just combing through every series' Wiki?
