Oh, please don't misconstrue. I'm thrilled it's a thing. This was just a sigh at general Konami-lameness.

I mean, that's like most of the Konami discourse going back a decade, do we really gotta attach it to the cool stuff as well as the lame stuff

I'll try not to be such a Negative Nancy in the future.

I recently discovered that I have Suikoden II on my Vita (when checking to see how much free space I have on my memory card to hopefully know if I have enough space for the Persona dancing games- but I don't know how big those are yet) and Suikoden III on my PS3. I don't remember digitally buying either one, but yay me. Maybe I'll dive into one on my vacation.

So... Johhny Yong Bosch (the second Black Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Ranger) was the VA for Nick in Suikoden V. Huh. Who knew?

(Sit down, Layfield! Of course, you knew...)

I feel like JYB is everywhere, though? He's the main character and antagonist of Persona 4, simultaneously.

Yeah, he's been all over the place in games and anime since like 2000. Probably almost as ubiquitous as Yuri Lowenthal or Troy Baker at this point, just a little lower profile.

Funny enough, Yuri Lowenthal was the only other name I recognized on the VA list for Suikoden V, on IMDB.

Yuri and Troy are also basically in every modern Persona and FE game as well. Matt Mercer, too.

The rise of Troy Baker since P4 is really something. He went from P4 and Vesperia in the same year to Final Fantasy 13 not long after to major leading or co-star roles in huge budget games like Metal Gear, Uncharted, Last of Us, Bioshock, Batman...

Dude's amazing. I still love that ad lib musical version of that ending scene of The Last of Us.

I first encountered Troy Baker in FMA: Brotherhood.

Fun fact: Cherami Leigh and Todd Haberkorn are going to be in Collinsville, IL for a new-ish con. It's super cheap to get into if anyone wants to make the trip. You can stay at my house for free!

A Pre-PAX PSN Flash Sale that has the Suikoden games (well, I-IV, of course) in it. I know reading too much into this is just asking for disappointment, but...

Has anyone else been following the Suikoden No Context twitter account? Love it.

Like all Suikoden things on the internet I assume it's a Layfield alt.

It's actually mint_julippe's work. I don't have my finger on the pulse of these trendy meme account ideas.

Aren't we all just Layfield alts?

It does feel like something he might do, but I did see somewhere in the comments mint alluding to it being theirs.

Ah, I thought it was Layfield as well. I see it in my feed from time to time, but I don't think I actually follow it. I should fix that.

So, apparently Konami updated this site, and people are becoming very hopeful. I can't imagine it's more than a gacha, or a series port, or maybe just V finally coming to PSN.

Fans are fucking grasping at straws if they think Konami gutting 20 years of archival history and information and replacing it with a single page of plain text and a handful of JPGs makes them hopeful for anything but a pillow to be forced on Konami's face.

The sad thing is, Suikoden as a gacha mobile title kinda makes perfect sense.

Suikoden pillow over the face. I think this is how I would like to go, when it's my time.

I want a 5-star Pirate Snowe!

Ever since I made that last post I've been thinking about how well a mobile Suikoden title could work. Popular titles right now have Suikoden standard features like HQ expansion and large-scale battle systems.

Snowe would be 5-star but he'd also be the last character to get an upgrade after 6-star units launch. :pac
